Q. What are the password requirements?

Q. What type of support is available for ClearView?
A. Telephone support is available for ClearView during normal business hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm central time, Monday through Friday by calling 281-504-8002. Email support is also available by sending email to firstname.lastname@example.org. All email requests will be answerd on a same-day basis during normal business hours and by the following business day for requests received outside of normal business hours.
Q. Why is Clearview telling me that I need a license to save?
A. The viewer parts of Clearview X9 and ACH are free. However, if you would like to use the more advanced features, such as saving and editing, then you will need to purchase a license. Follow the link from the license message to upgrade your account.
Q. How can I easily see the errors that are in the file?
A. The panel on the left will show you in a tree view the file you are looking at, along with errors and warnings indicated in yellow or red. To get a more consolidated view click on View > Violations from the toolbar. This will bring up a violation panel. When you click on any violation in that panel, it will take you directly to the problem record and field.
Q. Why does the File > Open dialog look different than what I am used to when opening files?
A. The open file dialog box actually interrogates the x9 files in the selected directory to give you a bird’s eye view of the files themselves to help you determine which one you may want to open. You may also click ‘Copy’ from this screen and it will copy this summary file information into your clipboard to be pasted into another application.
Q. Why did the totals not update when I deleted and saved a record?
A. Clearview does not assume that totals should be updated after an edit. If you want the totals updated, just click Tools > Recalculate Totals before you save your file.
Q. What does Tools > Repair Violations do?
A. Repair Violations is a feature that will go through and correct simple formatting problems, if possible. An example of this would be if a field needed to be left justified.
Q. I clicked 'Close' from the main screen and now I cannot see my icons. How do I get them back?
A. Click on the icon that looks like a house below the toolbar on the main screen.
Q. How do I change my password?
A. From the main screen toolbar with the icons go to Tools > Change Password
Q. Why is Clearview not launching?
A. Clearview is currently only supported on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. You may need to select 'Open' if your browser is prompting you to save or open a file. Be sure you have Java Run Time (JRE) installed on your computer. It is available for free from java.com/en. You can check our website for a list of other requirements.
